Freesat is satellite, so you need a dish. There are more channels on Freesat than freeview, but they are NOT the same channels.
On Freesat you get the geographical location brand of channels, more news channels than Freeview, and more shopping. Freesat has HD already, so you can watch BBCHD and ITV HD but you need a HD box in order to get HD.
The main advantage of Freesat is coverage; wherever you live you can get it.
Freesat cannot be installed where a satellite dish cannot be installed, or has an obstruction such as a large building or mountain in the direction in which it needs to point to pick up.
Freesat channels are numbered 101,102,103 and some people prefer other systems which are number 1, 2, 3 etc. You can buy televisions with freesat built in these days but thats a small percentage but all have freeview but if you feel extravagant you can get televisions in with both
